Since I’ve never had Thai before, I ordered the typical Pad Thai, which is just sautéed rice noodle with bean sprout, ground peanut, small brown tofu, scallion and egg. I’d give it a 7/10 just because I was thrown off by some of the flavors.

Then, we took a quick walk at Carl Schurz Park, but it was carzy hot that day – around 90 degrees.
To end the day, we went to Emack and Bolio’s to beat the heat. The place was just too cute! It was decorated with colorful wallpaper, old rock ‘n’ roll poster, and gave off a cool “hippie” vibe. On top of that, the ice-cream was off the charts – super creamy and delicious (or maybe I was just in need of something cold to avoid heat stroke). From their assortment of flavors, I ordered peanut butter oreo, serious chocolate addiction, and the original oreo.
Hope you enjoyed today’s post and let me know if you want to see an NYC Guide Blog post!
I’ve always loved the motto, “Keep it simple stupid.” Today, this quote applies to my simple t-shirt dress . However, I’m never one to dress like Plain Jane, so I added my Mirina Collections “Jess” Necklace. It’s such a statement that it speaks for itself. To finish it off, I added my Pewter Gladiator Sandals and a neutral cross-body bag.
I’m so excited that summer has arrived! Now, I can store my grays and blacks away, and start wearing bright happy colors.
Recently, I purchased this amazing dress from J.Crew Factory at only $26! I wore it to my high school’s National Honor Society. Among the sea of black and white dresses, you could spot me from a mile away. Don’t be afraid to stand out! Summer is the perfect time to experiment with colors, textures, trends – whatever floats your boat.

Off-the-shoulder tops have been extremely popular this season, with ASOS and ZARA producing an array of styles. However, if you don’t want to pay $50 for a blouse, check out this link for IDENTICAL TOPS at 1/5 of the price:
After two weeks jam-packed with AP exams, finals, and various other stress-inducing tasks, I’m so glad to be back in the blogosphere! Here was my look to celebrate and close off a hectic past few weeks.
A super popular trend for spring and summer this year has been off-the-shoulder tops. Personally, I’m a huge fan of them because you can bare a little skin, without being too risqué. Even though they remind me of a Coachella desert music festival, off the shoulder tops are totally wearable anywhere – even a city like NY.
Today, I styled this amazing Zara Blouse with light wash jeans from Gap Factory, and some tan heeled boots by Chinese Laundry. Wearing this to school, my outfit was pretty casual, just a simple white style.
Today, I’ll be showing you a cute outfit that really shows my style. I would describe my style as being preppy with a “chic city twist”. Normally, preppy brings to mind Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, and Southern brands (like Vineyard Vines, Marley Lilly, Simply Southern Tees, Southern Proper, Jadelynn Brooke).
While I do love these colorful brands, living in NYC has definitely toned-down my color choices. I love a good olive pant or white chiffon blouse. I guess you could say that my “city chic” comes from shopping at shops like Zara, J.Crew, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Intermix, Gap, etc. Most of these stores are located right next to each other in SoHo or Fifth Ave anyways.
On my way to go to Manhattan today, I decided to spice up my look and try Blair Waldorf’s outrageous and elaborate preppy style. However, instead of spend $450 on one Valentino skirt, I opted for the J.Crew sale section.
My Inspiration Photos: See how Leighton Meester’s stylist coordinated the top and skirt?
Recently, I bought a camel colored sweater vest from Forever 21, hoping it would look like this (as it was on the model):
Unfortunately, it ended up looking like a sack of potatoes (matched the color, too) on me. Since I couldn’t return it, I had to figue out a nicer way to style it.
Leather always adds a bit of edge to any sweater, so I threw on my new green leather jacket. I finished the look with black jeans, a pair of pointed metallic flats, and my new Rebecca Minkoff mini mac.
Not only was the sweater vest warm, but the whole outfit created a “city chic” feel.
